Gratitude for dummies
Created By: McCulley, Nancy On Tue, Mar 09, 2010 09:02 AM
There's a task set up every Friday on my Outlook calendar that says, "Thank three people, preferably in writing." If I don't complete it, it stays on my reminder list. Yes, there have been times when there were two of the same reminder staring me in the face. Didn't get around to doing it last week... now the "work" has doubled. (Tsk, I used to warn my children of that danger - do it before it's twins!)

I keep a little box of note cards in my desk drawer, and the stamps are nearby. How hard can that be? The idea for putting a small task like this on your calendar wasn't a profound idea, but it came to me during a time of crisis, when thinking about something else, anything else, was exactly what I needed to do.

Now, just like exercise, sometimes I forget. But the key is making a commitment to doing it. This week I think I'll send out more than three. After all, there are more than a hundred members in my chapter who teach me something new every day. I'm so blessed.

This is a great article. Thank three people, preferably in writing." If I don't complete it, it stays on my reminder list. We should all have this on our TO DO NOW list. Thank you for the article.
What a great idea to add a reminder to be grateful and to express your thanks to other people on your calendar. :)
